Hamilton is
Better Than
Raikkonen

Williams Team Principal Frank Williams has stated McLaren's Lewis Hamilton to be a superior driver to Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen. Williams simply does not see Raikkonen as interested in Formula 1, or at least not nearly as much as his young countryman.

"If the Ferrari is the better car this year, McLaren should be saying to themselves 'Thank god he [Hamilton] is not in a Ferrari, otherwise there would be no point going racing'.

I don't know Kimi well. He is a gifted driver, as good as anyone, but Kimi's weakness is that he is not that interested. So if a man of equal skill, let's say, turns up in an identical car, with one working harder than the other, it is more likely that that man would have the upper hand."

So essentially what Frank is saying is, 'I do not know Kimi at all, but I know he is not interested.' Well this certainly makes sense... In all honesty though, there is no denying Raikkonen seems a bit detached from Formula 1 and that Hamilton could not be anymore dedicated. Though to simply state such as fact and a reflection on who is a better driver, based purely on speculation is quite ridiculous. I should think it very unlikely for Kimi to be uninterested in Formula 1, after dedicating years to it while winning races and a World Championship.

Regardless, does interest really make a difference? Clearly if Raikkonen can do as well as he has, while being completely bereft of interest, does Hamilton really hold much of an advantage? Perhaps not.
